I've helped students gain admission to law school. I've helped students gain admission to universities. I helped a student test out of college calculus. Every student comes with their own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. I believe in getting to know my students well so that I know where they are coming from and so that I can target my approach to their unique needs.
I have been both a teacher and an attorney. I taught middle school algebra and geometry in the Western suburbs of Chicago. I worked as a substitute teacher in K-12 classrooms. I went back to school and got a J.D.. I scored a 164 out of 180 on my LSAT and qualified for a scholarship based on this high score. Actually, a tutor from Wyzant worked with me to achieve that score. As an attorney, I practiced in the area of real estate and foreclosures.
Some of the educational approaches I favor are problem-based learning, backwards design, and constructivism. I can explain these in detail if you'd like, or you can look them up online for yourself.
