About Olivera

Bio

My teaching experience dates back to my high school and college, when I was tutoring my peers and other students. My first professional experience was as a teaching assistant at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. I’ve always been enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge, and teaching is one of the jobs that I will always enjoy.

My first professional experience was as a teaching assistant at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. I’ve always been enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge, and teaching is one of the jobs that I will always enjoy.

I hold a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, with major in DSP and Communications. While working on my master’s thesis, I worked as a TA at IIT teaching undergraduate labs, grading students’ homework, and holding office hours for students needing assistance with their study. My B.Sc. degree is also in Electrical Engineering from University of Nis in Serbia, with major in Controls and Systems. As undergraduate student I used to teach private lessons in math and physics. Later on, I was teaching software development occasionally.

My professional experience includes work for almost 12 years in the telecommunications engineering industry as Software Development Engineer for embedded systems and additional 3 years of software development for point of sale systems. Over the years I’ve acquired excellent working experience in C/C++ and Java, MATLAB, Python, as well as many other scripting languages such as Perl and bash. I have a lot of experience with software design and development. My ultimate goal is to teach a student how to create a standalone executable program – not only to learn the programming language.

I have great foundation in many electrical engineering subjects such as math, physics, DSP and communications. I can guide you in solving homework problems or projects in any of these areas, with or without using any of the programming languages.
