I am currently a college student majoring in mathematics and minoring in computer science at Spelman College. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in areas such as algebra, calculus, statistics, logic, and programming. I have also completed coursework in mathematical reasoning and abstract thinking, which allows me to help students not only understand procedures, but also grasp the deeper concepts behind them.
My tutoring experience has been both formal and informal. I have worked one-on-one with middle and high school students through volunteer programs such as the Apage Youth Center, where I helped students with homework, test preparation, and building confidence in math. I've also served as a coding instructor with the Black Innovators of Technology, where I introduced younger students to programming concepts in a fun, beginner-friendly way. I strive to meet students where they are, adapting my approach depending on their learning style—whether they need visual aids, step-by-step breakdowns, or just someone who listens and reassures them.
I care deeply about making learning feel supportive and empowering. I believe in creating a low-pressure environment where students are not afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. My goal is to help students not only succeed in school but also develop a sense of curiosity and confidence that they carry with them beyond the classroom.
