I am currently a rising second year at the University of California, Los Angeles and have already utilized their opportunities to teach mathematics as well as chemistry to student athletes. UCLA offers the unique opportunity for undergraduates to serve as LAs (Learning Assistants) that work with the TAs (Teaching Assistants) to lead discussion and to guide students through particularly tough concepts and questions during discussion sections. I have had experience in working with LAs and TAs in my genetics and chemistry courses.

In high school I was a part of numerous honor societies that required me to tutor mathematics, chemistry, SAT mathematics, and Spanish. Finally, I have received a considerable amount of tutoring from C2 Education as well as other smaller centers and can adapt to their techniques in teaching STEM courses as well as in college essay writing.

AP Courses Taken: AP United States Government and Politics, AP World History, AP Spanish Language and Culture, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, AP English Language and Composition, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP English Literature and Composition, and AP Physics 1

Coursework at UCLA: Differential Calculus, Integration and Infinite Series, Cellular Genetics, Chemical Energetics and Change, Chemical Synthesis and Reactivity, and General Chemistry

As a second year in college, I understand how ridiculously competitive college admissions have become and the need to stay ahead of the competition by self-studying/taking extra courses over the summer. Every summer since Eight grade, I took online 1-2 courses to stay ahead of my peers and I understand the frustrations of not having a teacher physically present (I would work late at night and the professor would be unavailable). This would lead to having to scrounge the internet for hours just to understand a single concept. After completing the formal education system at a very competitive high school in Fulton County, I hope to remedy this by providing my expertise to any student in need of extra help!
