Hey there! I'm Luke, and I'm a doctoral student at Florida State University with a passion for history, the social sciences, and English that I am always glad to share!
I am currently a PhD student at Florida State University working toward my doctorate in Urban and Regional Planning. Additionally, I have a Bachelor of Arts in History from Florida State and a Master of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati. I graduated from Florida State University with Summa Cum Laude distinction (3.91 GPA) and was recognized as an Outstanding Senior Scholar in my graduating class. I also was listed on the Dean's List each semester during my time at Florida State. During my time at the University of Cincinnati I also received high marks (3.97 GPA) and was recognized as the School of Planning's Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant. As a graduate teaching assistant, I gained insight into how professors develop their grading processes and apply them in practice - my hope is to distill this knowledge and help you be successful in your studies. Prior to college I also scored 5's on AP Human Geography, AP World History, AP European History, AP US History, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and AP Macro- and Microeconomics.
I am a firm believer that learning should go beyond rote memorization and should focus most on growing critical thinking skills that are central to the social sciences and humanities and applicable across all academic fields. My personal goal working with students has always been to help them identify their unique learning style and teach them to apply those skills on a universal basis. If you feel that I could help you achieve your academic goals, please feel free to reach out and email me!
