The ultimate reward for a teacher is to see the students understand and succeed, and this is my goal. I obtained the graduate degrees of MSEE and Ph.D. in EE, with a lot of hard work, figuring out solutions for difficult problems and grasping the difficult concepts, often mentoring my peers and other members of the research team on the way. I am determined to help my students succeed with their goals too. I am a passionate problem-solver and detail-oriented, professional explanator. My teaching philosophy is to enable the student to take ownership of the problem analysis and its solution derivation, rather than simply spoon-feeding the correct answer. My technique is to enable the student to unveil her/his best self and be willing to make a genuine effort.
I have taught as an Adjunct and Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments for a number of years, teaching a number of courses from the EE curriculum. During my extensive academic teaching and research experience, I have taught undergraduate courses in Introduction to Programming with Matlab, Linear Circuits and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Introduction to Communications, and Control Theory and Systems, and a course in Digital Image Processing. I also possess extensive hands-on experience in programming and systems modeling with Matlab during my extensive industrial experience. I regularly held office hours to help the students completely grasp the hard concepts and be successful with their homework, projects, and exams. I can work equally well with individuals on a 1-to-1 basis, as well as with groups of students on a 1-to-many. My dedication to life-long learning for myself propels me to inspire the students to focus on their own learning endeavors. Patience, perseverance, and creativity are the main characteristics of my teaching style. I am certified by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE).
