I attended John Jay college where i received my bachelor's degree in police science as well as a minor in history. I learned throughout my time at John Jay college that having teachers that take time to focus on individual students is key to their success and allows them to broaden their interests and fall in love with the subject matter by becoming engaged in their own education. I have always been a fan of history since a young age and have frequently sought out knowledge through books and various documentaries on subject matters that interest me specifically twentieth century history. I believe that in learning from lessons of the past it will help us make better decisions in the present and future.
My teaching, style is that off a laid back tutor. My approach to teaching consists of first listening to you the student and understanding what concepts are confusing to you. I simplify the concept and relate them to modern times. Another approach I use is explaining, how certain events have a domino effect throughout history and have led to changes that have effected society in modern times. Furthermore I also believe in using visual aids such as certain documentary clips as well as videos that can help explain events in a more visual context.
