I'm Zack! I have a degree in computer science with dual concentrations in AI and data, as well as systems and software. I was one of the earliest engineers at a successful environmental data and blockchain startup and played a critical role in growing it into a large technology company.

I also own 3 software companies and am the founder of an engineering university, version A, which offers a one-on-one university experience with customized curriculums, projects and lectures, and version B, which serves as a more traditional experience, where we use AI to enable tuition to be more affordable than any other university in the US. I am employed full-time at a company that is making breakthrough innovations to help solve climate change. I have also made significant academic research contributions, in the form of publications, conferences, and grants/work for the National Science Foundation. Some of these areas include autonomous HVAC control for smart buildings, smart lighting, personalization algorithms, and IoT.

In addition to founding and owning a large one-on-one tutoring company and tutoring software company, I have personally been tutoring for over a decade, with students of all ages and education levels. While I do not have the same tutoring availability as I used to, I still dedicate weekly availability on Wyzant to help students in computer science, mathematics, and entrepreneurship. I’ve tutored students in many computer science topics, including data structures, algorithms, machine learning, software, introductory CS, Python, C++, C, data science, and much more.

Tutoring is something I greatly enjoy doing. Anything is learnable and certain approaches work better with different students. I tailor my tutoring approach differently for each student, to bring out their strengths. Philosophically, I think a strong work-ethic and strong foundations are the most important qualities to succeeding in computer science, mathematics, and all areas of study. I am here to provide those foundations and concepts.
