I have always had a love for learning as well as teaching others. I have over 8 years of experience tutoring in my community, at schools, in public settings, online and at homes. I assist elementary children with homework such as reading, phonics, multiplication, division and fractions. My math experience includes middle school and high school levels such as algebra and geometry. I enjoy helping kids to improve their reading and writing abilities. I have successfully helped students overcome the obstacle of low confidence and feelings of inadequacy. My desire is to cultivate a love for reading and writing in my students, as it is something that I love. I offer help with test preparation, homework, improving grades and strengthening foundational skills.
I also have experiencing teaching English as a second language to adults and children, where I helped with accent reduction, developing conversational skills, improving literacy and enhancing vocabulary and grammar. I also have over ten years of experience as a volunteer Bible teacher where I promote literacy in each student by means of reading, comprehension, answering students' questions and misunderstandings, and helping them to develop a love for a variety of subjects.
My goal is to help students develop an interest, feel motivated and find joy in what they are learning. I strive to build a solid foundation for them to progress. I evaluate each student’s learning style and adapt my teaching methods or strategies to best suit their individual needs.
