I hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Technology and have worked in the IT field for over a decade, with hands-on experience in managed services, networking, and systems support. I’m also CompTIA Network+ certified and have real-world experience configuring and troubleshooting network environments, supporting helpdesk operations, and guiding clients through software and infrastructure best practices.

My teaching background includes formal experience as a middle and high school teacher in both public and private schools in Clark County, Las Vegas, where I taught Algebra and Web Design. These roles gave me the opportunity to work with students aged 12–18 in a classroom setting, helping them develop strong problem-solving and technical skills. After transitioning into IT full-time, I continued teaching by training junior technicians and mentoring young adults looking to break into the tech field. I’ve led one-on-one coaching sessions, guided group workshops, and helped peers prepare for certifications like CompTIA A+ and Network+.

My approach to tutoring is centered on clarity, encouragement, and real-world application. Whether I'm working with a student who is brand new to computers or someone prepping for a certification exam, I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, relatable concepts. I tailor each session to the student’s goals, learning style, and current level of understanding — whether that means using analogies, hands-on simulations, or structured exam prep strategies. I’m passionate about building confidence as much as knowledge, and I aim to help every student walk away not just with answers, but with lasting understanding.

Information Technology

Information Technology

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology with a concentration in Networking Services. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked across various sectors of the IT industry, including multiple Managed Services Providers (MSPs), where I developed a broad and practical skill set. My roles have ranged from Helpdesk Technician and Onsite Field Tech to Tier 2/3 Escalation Engineer, Network Engineer, Systems Administrator, Outage Response Engineer, and Technical Account Manager. I’ve also served in leadership roles such as Helpdesk Supervisor, where I was responsible for mentoring junior technicians, managing escalations, and improving documentation and workflow processes. My experience spans across key areas of IT, including networking fundamentals, hardware/software troubleshooting, Windows environments, endpoint management, basic cybersecurity, client support, and infrastructure deployment. I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients, from small businesses to multi-site enterprises, allowing me to understand and explain both the technical and user-facing sides of IT clearly and effectively. In addition to my technical work, I’ve consistently trained and supported junior staff, helping them prepare for roles in helpdesk and support engineering, and guiding some through CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification prep. My ability to break down complex ideas into simple, real-world examples has made me an effective mentor and communicator — skills I bring into every tutoring session.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

With over 10 years in the IT industry and firsthand experience both as a job candidate and a hiring team member, I’ve developed a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in interviews. I’ve personally secured offers for 10+ roles across technical support, network engineering, and leadership positions — including Helpdesk Supervisor and Technical Account Manager — and have conducted more than 30 interviews for junior techs, helpdesk staff, and support engineers. Beyond just answering questions well, I help students and professionals master the full interview process: from crafting compelling responses using frameworks like STAR, to demonstrating technical competency with clarity and confidence. I also coach on mindset, professionalism, and how to tailor answers based on the role or industry. My guidance is especially valuable for those breaking into IT or transitioning into more advanced roles, as I can offer insight into both the technical and soft skills that hiring managers look for.
Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows

I have over a decade of hands-on experience working with Microsoft Windows environments in both professional support and instructional capacities. My background includes supporting and administering Windows desktop operating systems across hundreds of endpoints in business environments, as well as deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Windows Server infrastructure in Managed Services Provider (MSP) settings. I’ve worked in roles such as Helpdesk Technician, Escalation Engineer, Systems Administrator, and Technical Account Manager, where I was responsible for tasks ranging from Active Directory and Group Policy management to server backups, user access control, print server configuration, and remote desktop support. Throughout my career, I’ve supported users at every level — from end users needing help with Microsoft 365 or Windows 10 navigation, to junior technicians learning how to configure and troubleshoot domain-joined devices and server roles. I’ve worked extensively with Windows Server versions from 2012 through 2022, including domain controller deployments, DNS/DHCP management, remote file services, and Hyper-V virtualization. In my leadership roles, I also mentored new technicians on best practices for supporting Windows environments, writing documentation, and maintaining system security. My technical foundation, combined with real-world teaching experience, allows me to explain both basic and advanced Microsoft Windows concepts in a way that’s practical and easy to understand — whether I’m helping someone new to Windows or guiding an aspiring IT professional preparing for real-world job tasks.
Networking (Computer)

Networking (Computer)

I am CompTIA Network+ certified and have extensive hands-on experience working in networking roles across multiple Managed Services Providers. Over the past decade, I’ve held positions including Escalation Technician, Network Engineer, and Systems Administrator, where I was responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex networking issues in live production environments. I’ve worked with a variety of networking hardware and platforms, including Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, SonicWall, and Fortinet, and I’ve configured everything from VLANs and port forwarding to VPN tunnels, DHCP scopes, DNS records, NAT rules, and static routes. In addition to my technical responsibilities, I regularly trained junior technicians and helped onboard new hires by teaching them foundational networking principles — often bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and real-world troubleshooting. My experience includes supporting multi-site networks, resolving connectivity issues at the packet level, documenting infrastructure, and providing proactive network health checks for client sites. I’ve also assisted in client education, helping them understand how to maintain secure, reliable networks. Whether working with students preparing for the CompTIA Network+ exam or someone trying to grasp subnetting, protocols, S2S VPNs, SSL VPNS, or troubleshooting logic, I focus on clear explanations that tie theory directly to real-world outcomes. My mix of certification-backed knowledge and practical field experience equips me to support learners at all levels in mastering computer networking concepts.
