Hello, my name is Mari P and I currently work as a contact tracer in the epidemiology department at the health department. Also, I will be finishing my last semester this winter for my second master's degree in Leadership with a specialization in Organizational Management at Nova Southeastern University. I have the following college degrees: An associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College in Graphic and Commercial Arts, a Bachelor of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Psychology specializing in Research, a master's in public health degree from Kaplan University specializing in Epidemiology, and a Doctor of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University specializing in Health Education and Telehealth.
In the area of epidemiology, I have completed the following courses: epidemiology, global health epidemiology, infectious disease epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, and data management for epidemiology. I have taken the following psychology classes: abnormal psychology, biological psychology, behavioral psychology, lifespan psychology, and history of psychology.
I worked tutoring children in the areas of math and reading. As well as tutoring college students in different subject areas, such as APA, writing or ESL. Whether explaining homework assignments, teaching students how to read, helping students prepare for upcoming exams or proofreading papers. In addition, I have also helped students produce project ideas and oversaw the execution of the projects as a preceptor.
I worked for nine years at an academic library helping students find materials and answering directional questions. Then I was a supervisor for service-learning students for four years and a preceptor for MPH students completing their practicum. In addition, I completed an internship as a teaching assistant in a Global Health epidemiology online class.
I love working with students and being able to help them excel academically. I look forward to being able to help you achieve your academic goals.
