I am a Translator and Language Tutor with a passion for languages, which have allowed me to experience the classroom both as a teacher and as a student.
Because of my background, I have a deep understanding of the strategies and techniques a student should use while learning a new language, of the most common difficulties and the emotional involvement.

My tutoring approach is entirely tailored on each student's needs and interests.
Overall, the student has to be as active as possible during our class. I believe that every minute a student dedicates to a class, and every penny spent on it, has to count. For that reason, my classes are not based on long dissertations on grammar. We introduce the rule, understand it and use it right away! Conversation, living language and actual use are my keywords.
I am a big fan of visual aids, engaging topics, creativity and fun. Learning a language is an enjoyable activity for me, and I want it to be the same for my students as well.

ITALIAN:
Italian is my mother tongue, and my first love. But simply being Italian doesn't mean being able to teach it. I have received formation in using the tools and techniques to ensure comprehension and learning. I also believe that learning Italian entail taking a virtual trip throughout the country, where we can focus on the many aspects of our wonderful culture. Classes are focused on conversational skills, and always try to explore aspects of Italy in addition to the Italian language. I feel happy when my students go to Italy and not only understand, but are eager to use their Italian. You learn Italian to be able to speak, and my goal is putting you on that track!

I have studied linguistics and education, and therefore have received formation in using the tools and techniques to ensure comprehension and learning. Classes are focused on conversational skills, and always try to explore aspects of Italy in addition to the Italian language. I feel happy when my students go to Italy and not only understand, but are eager to use their Italian. You learn Italian to be able to speak, and my goal is putting you on that track!
Regents

Regents

As of 2016, students entering 9th grade are able to meet the Advanced Regents diploma language assessment requirement passing the NYC LOTE exam with a score of 65+ or the Second Language Proficiency (SLP). I have been tutoring students whose interest is passing the SLP test with the highest score. I have a syllabus specifically intended to strengthen the core aspects (Writing, Reading, Speaking, Listening) in Spanish language. I also give classes focused on other tests, such as AP Spanish and Italian.

Top world class language teacher - highly recommended

Manola combines in a very unique manner the different dimensions of a world class language teacher. Deep knowledge and training, a effective and fast-paced method but yet customized individually to each student's needs, empathy patience and flexibility, and a great commitment and genuine care towards the student's learning. I have taken classes of different idioms throughout my life and truly believe it is very hard to find such unique of combination of different skills sets in one tutor.
