Bio

For over forty years I have had the rewarding experience of instructing people from kindergartners to adults. I have my MAEd. in Curriculum and Instruction with Specialization in Computer Education from the University of Phoenix. My past experience includes teaching at Beacon College, the first accredited college in the world granting a bachelor's degree to students with learning disabilities. I am a private tutor for these students. I am retired after 35 years from Lake Sumter State...

For over forty years I have had the rewarding experience of instructing people from kindergartners to adults. I have my MAEd. in Curriculum and Instruction with Specialization in Computer Education from the University of Phoenix. My past experience includes teaching at Beacon College, the first accredited college in the world granting a bachelor's degree to students with learning disabilities. I am a private tutor for these students. I am retired after 35 years from Lake Sumter State College as an adjunct instructor in the Computer Sciences and the Education Department. I have also taught elementary age students with special needs how to read and how to complete basic math problems.

My teaching methodology is to explain the material, show how to complete the task at hand, work the assignment together, and ask the student to complete practice work.

I believe that sharing study skills and time management skills are an integral part of a student becoming academically successful.

Recently I tutored my daughter-in-law in preparation for the TEAS test. Her scores were very low and she raised them quite a number of points. We are working to reach a passing score.

Great teacher.

Joanne worked with my son to help with his reading comprehension. She's very patient and understanding. My son enjoys the time he spends with her and feels she's helping him. His attitude towards school works has improved which has been nice to see.

Changing forms and subforms (Access)

Not quite what I needed. I did something wrong with a total invoice amt and she tried to get me to fix it but we ran out of time. Her teaching method is still excellent.
