Hi! My name is Rianna. I am a recent graduate from the University of Florida where I majored in Biochemistry and minored in Health Disparities. I have always loved teaching others, ensuring they understood concepts they struggled with and seeing them pass their classes with flying colors. Throughout college I was a teacher's assistant to my General Chemistry Professor and my Analytical Chemistry Lab professor. After college, I started tutoring high school students in Geometry and helped elementary school students with their homework after school.
The thing I love most about tutoring is watching my students grow with the knowledge they've learned. I know what it can be like to struggle in a class and feel lost and confused. As your tutor, I will take the time and effort necessary to make sure you grasp the topics you are having difficulty with. If one method isn't working, then I will look for another way to ensure you become proficient in that subject. I am here for you and will make sure you become the best student you can possibly be.
Growing up, Math and Science have been both my favorite and best subjects. As a Math tutor, I first like to go over the concepts in detail, making sure the student understands the basics. After that, I jump right into practice problems because I've noticed that the only way to get better at math is to practice. Personally, I have taken Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC and Statistics.
Even though I enjoy teaching Math, I really love Science. I have tutored others in biology since high school, holding after school sessions to go over high yield topics using my notes, videos and past exam questions. In college, I assisted students with weekly chemistry worksheets, held weekly group discussions with a small group of students and held large exam reviews.
