Dr. B. was an outstanding resource for better understanding the concepts taught in statistics, calculus and quantitative analysis. I wouldn't have been able to make it through two of my Masters courses without her because she has an ability to simplify very complex concepts. I highly recommend her for anyone who is having a difficult time with these subjects, and wants to learn from someone who is highly knowledgeable on these subject matters.

Joseph, it is I that must thank you for allowing me to serve you while tackling these challenges in your program of studies. Thanks for the confidence; continued success in all your undertakings.

It is clear that this tutor cares about her students and their learning. What she is able to accomplish in one session is truly amazing. She is prepared, manages time wisely, and thorough. We look forward to every session.

Ms. Edina B. comes not only with an impressive pedigree; her commitment to helping our child has been unsurpassed. She is flexible and able to work within necessary boundaries to create synergetic efforts between our son's school and the tutoring sessions. Ms. Edina is very organized and goal driven and has allowed those virtues to drive every session. We are delighted to see the progress and while we are still away from the goal, we have no doubt we will get there.

Dr. B has been tutoring our son for over a year and I can unequivocally say that she is singly responsible for his much improved math work and confidence when he approaches tasks. Through consistent work, and true commitment to our family's goals, Dr. B was able to work through many difficult periods and lifted his level of work from kindergarten to grade 2, which is where he should have been at the start of the year. I am extremely happy that she is able to help us and we will continue to make more strides with Dr. B on our team. She is truly a "math doctor."

Edina has been great with my son. She has been adaptable to the curricular approach that I wanted and has made learning math fun. She clearly has a deep knowledge of the subject and has been flexible in the way she teaches. She's always on time and comes with a cheery disposition. I'd highly recommend her!

Dr. B. is dedicated to helping the student acquire an understanding of the lesson to the point of integrating everyday language and applications to create a connection beyond a grade. Dr.B's understanding allows her to pinpoint the students weakness and develop a renewed concept on the subject of math.

Ms B. was very helpful in meeting my son's needs. My son needed only a few sessions to be better prepared for the EOC Algebra 1 Exam. I am happy to say that he passed with a score of 431, Level 4.

I am appreciative of the opportunity to have worked with your son, B. If the time spent with him has rekindled his true love for math, then that's a lot. Here's to his continued success.

Edina is an awesome tutor! She is patient and very knowledgeable and is able to teach Calculus to my child in a way that made my child understand the lessons better. Wished she had tutored my child much earlier.

Your daughter is a brilliant mind. She is sharp and she is quick. It is a pleasure to teach to the level of her brilliance and help remove and improve grey areas.

Edina B. is a great tutor. She has tutored one of my students in Differential Equations. She will send a reminder about the next coming up meeting, which is helpful. The Differential Equations student failed his first attempt at the class, but then took it for a second time with the help of Dr. Edina. He is passing the class with a B.

A major part of this student's success is the rapport that we have developed. I get him! I have come to understand and appreciate how he learns, and that's the key to these successful outcomes.

Dr. Edina B. has demonstrated excellent teaching skills in all the sessions she has had so far with my daughter. Always ready to adjust her schedules to suit the needs of my daughter. What I loved most about her is her interpersonal and human relations skills with my daughter; she loves what she does, willingly transferring knowledge in AICE Math and AP Calculus to Mary in the areas where she is having challenges.

Currently, my daughter has started to develop confidence in the weak areas, being an 11th Grade student challenging these College level Maths gives me joy to have a great tutor like Dr. Edina B. assist her to succeed in these subjects like all others where she is doing excellently well.

I will always recommend this tutor for all others in need of an experienced, dedicated and knowledgeable Math Tutor. Thank you Dr. Edina B. for all you are doing.

I rate Dr. Edina B. with A+ - 5 Stars Rating.

I am extremely pleased that a student with such great potential is breaking through to her capacity. She certainly is not afraid of the work that it takes to succeed.

Edina was very professional and I would to keep her as my tutor in a futures lessons. She was very punctual and reliable.

She is very professional and very precise when it comes to her mathematical skills. She is a true mathematician. Very patient and understanding when it comes to teacher the person she needs to tutor.

We have had two lessons so far and we are very pleased. Edina knows the subject matter and knows how to convey it to my son.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

The ACT math section comprises 60 questions to be done within 1-hour. The key is knowing the facts in pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and basic trigonometry, and doing some critical thinking, to use all the information that you are given, even when the information is in the answer choices.

Algebra 1, for most students, is the first year of math in high school. We need Algebra 1 because there are many things in life that we do not know. Algebra 1 teaches you how to find the unknown, which we usually represent by 'x', or 'y' or some other letter, by using other information that is given to you.

Example: Given that 3x = 18, what is the value of x? You divide both sides by 3, and the result is x = 6.

Not to be confused with the focus of Trigonometry, Algebra II is geared to solving mathematical problems focused on equations and inequalities, algebraically or graphically.

My Science degree from Concordia University was with a Major in applied math. One of the areas of application was statistics for the sciences, which addressed the topics of experimental design, clinical trials, cross correlations between phenomena; and the inferences based on the tests of hypotheses pertaining to genes, cross breading, hybrids, and the predisposition to particular traits in offspring based on traits in the parents.

I have practical experience in teaching students of Biostatistics how to ensure the appropriateness of experimental design; understanding the language of statistics; the choice of tests and the inferences that can be made based on test of hypotheses; and the importance of the power of an experiment, or its sensitivity to detect a real effect of independent variables in an experiment.

Calculus is a branch of mathematics focused on limits, functions, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series, with two major branches - differential and integral calculus.

Remember the equation for the slope of a straight line: m = (change in y)/(change in x), usually a constant. Well calculus takes into consideration that not all lines are straight, and part of the capability of calculus is to work with the slope of any line: dy/dx, calculated at any point on the line.

At the very foundation, Differential Equations are used to figure out the resultant change in a dependent variable, as the result of change in an independent variable of which the former is a function.

With a Major in Math and Economics, I have been tutoring students in differential equations for the past 12 years. During that time I have successfully helped many students prepare for their AP Calculus (AB and BC) exams.

I have dealt with Differential Equations as it relates to - among others - Related Rates, and Maxi-Min problems with students of physics, economics, business and management, and the social sciences.

Over two decades ago I was invited by Concordia University to teach math in the Faculty of Commerce, Department of Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems. My career started with Probability and Statistics for Science and Economics, and Quantitative Methods, teaching students in the MBA program.

Discrete Math is an active branch of contemporary math that is used in business, finance, economics, and the life- and social sciences.

My first cycle degree, BSc - Math/Economics, positioned me to influence students' perception of the usefulness and applicability of math, and Discrete Math helped me to do just that. That is the experience, passion and focus that I make available to students.

Elementary math is focused on introducing students to the basic operations - addition, subtraction, division and multiplication - and helping them to master these skill that are needed to handle the other levels of math.

Elementary math also teaches students how to apply these tools to activities in everyday life.

Over my many years of teaching and tutoring I have helped countless students to build confidence in their ability to take that most important step towards the next level in their educational development.

General Educational Development for non-traditional students - ones who do not complete high school within the expected time frame and age category - measures high-school level skills and knowledge.

As such the GED test is the means by which a student earns the equivalent of their high school diploma. It is the first milestone on a students path to college, and the first day of their new future.

Geometry is the branch of mathematics that deals with the properties, measurement, and relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces, and solids - plane geometry, co-ordinate geometry, and 3-D geometry.

I am uniquely qualified to tutor the GMAT because of the diversity of courses of study that I have pursued.

I have joint majors in math and economics, graduate studies in business administration, and doctoral studies in philosophy and logic. I have been a business owner, and I have also taught Quantitative Methods, and Probability and Statistics for Business and Economics as well as for the Social Sciences.

In addition, I have an excellent command of the English language; I am a published author, and have co-written several memoirs and participated in several steering committees and advisory boards pertaining to a variety of social issues.

The GRE is a test which is required for admission to many universities in the US. It has been recently changed to a computer-adaptive test which checks for proficiency in math, interpretation of charts and graphs, vocabulary in-context, and reasoning.

I am qualified to tutor ISEE because I have extensive experience tutoring students who are in private and independent schools. I have tutored ISEE in other settings and with other institutions/training centers. I also tutor other tests such as SSAT at this same level, and the PERT college prep course.

Linear Algebra is about very practical application of mathematics. It is a view of the many discrete applications in our reality.

As a professor of applied math at Concordia University, I taught math for the decision sciences. Among the courses taught were subjects focused heavily on deterministic methods. So it is that Linear Algebra figured heavily in my undertakings.

Since I taught with the departments of management and business, in the Commerce Faculty, Linear Algebra was used in game theory which really governs decision making in competitive environments, risk taking, and investment - all of which use matrices and vectors in approaching solutions to problems.

Linear Algebra was also used to solve production problems - resource allocation, profitability - and figures heavily in the management sciences, through linear programming.

Prealgebra by its very name is self explanatory. It equips the student with the tools necessary to handle algebra.

It helps the student to better understand, work with and solve equations involving the operations of addition and subtraction. As such they learn the natural number system, integers, fractions, decimals, negative numbers, factorization of natural numbers, simple roots and powers, and the associative and distributive properties of addition / subtraction.

Prealgebra may also contain some simple geometry as an application of variable manipulation as it pertains to area and volume.

Pre-calculus, a combination of algebra and trigonometry, is an introduction to Analysis, that explores topics that will be applied in calculus.

Probability speaks about the likelihood of an event taking place. Each outcome of any given event is assigned a value of zero through 1. Each likely outcome of an experiment is assigned a probability value such that the sum of the probabilities of all the outcomes total one.

Examples of outcomes whose simple probabilities are equal:

1. Flipping a coin: - P(H) = P(T) = 1/2

2. Rolling a die: - P(1) = P(2) = P(3) = P(4) = P(5) = P(6) = 1/6

All students interested in being considered for the National Merit List, should make the PSAT a must. The new configuration of this preliminary standardized test is also an excellent means of familiarizing students with the SAT, though no upper level math is required.

I earned a ThD degree from Grace Theological Seminary in 2007, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development.

For over thirty years I have taught at the Church at Montreal Prayer Palace, Restoration Ministries Bible Schools, Canada, and more recently with The Devon Williams Bible Institute, USA 2003 to present.

I have developed material, done extensive research, and done seminars and workshops on topics including, but not limited to: Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Comparative Religion, Hermeneutics, Homoletics, Biblical Studies I and II, Religious Ethics, Religious Rhetoric and The Difficulties of Theological Language, The Problem of Evil, Theology I and II, and A Survey of Arguments for the Existence of God.

I am also a student of apologetics and religious thought.

The SAT standardized test is really a critical thinking test, using math as the basis for testing your thinking.

It pre-supposes that you have been exposed to a certain body of material: Arithmetic-type material, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. It's not about working long and hard, but really about being alert and working smart.

From my many years of experience tutoring the SSAT I have come to realize that the test prep is most useful in filling any gaps due to the differences in curricula from school to school.

Private school may be a wonderful alternative - and sometimes necessary alternative - to the public school system. However, when it's time to go off to Secondary level - even within the same private school system - there must be a standardized means to determine admission. The SSAT does just that.

The test consists of a short essay and multiple choice aptitude questions. The aptitude testing concentrates on math, reading comprehension and the use of language.

I taught statistics at university level. Among the various fields in which Statistics can be applied, I dealt with Gaming theory that is at the foundation of decision making and risk taking in business and economics. I have also taught Bio-statistics, Statistics for the Social Sciences, as well as Operations Research which uses Statistics the optimize solutions to complex problems, for example, Queuing and Waiting Time, and Total Quality Management.

If you understand that a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where c is the hypotenuse of a right-triangle, and 'a', 'b' are the legs, then you are well on your way to understanding that sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1 where 1 is the measure of the radius in the unit circle.

My mantra over the years in teaching Trigonometry has been this, "If you are kind and learn to love Pythagoras, he will be kind and not abandon you in Trigonometry."

Trigonometry is math that deals with triangles. It explores relationships between angles that are associated with triangles.

Whether you do trigonometry at high school or college level, you will be introduced to and acquire knowledge about the sides and angles of plane or spherical triangles, and calculations based on them.
