Hey, I'm Alex. I graduated FAU with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and I love teaching math. Like many people, I used to dislike math in school and avoided it when I could. But after learning from the right teacher (who I now consider the best teacher I've ever had), I grew to understand, appreciate, and enjoy it a great deal. This has led me to go further in math than I would have ever thought. I have now completed Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus I, II, III, and Differential Equations, and excelled in all of them.

Due to my own experience, I have a personal understanding of how important having the right teacher is in facilitating learning, especially when it comes to a subject like math that many people struggle with. I try my best to be that facilitator by explaining the subject matter in an engaging way that provides a deep understanding of the material in a student-friendly way. Furthermore, I strongly encourage students to practice the material on their own. To excel in math, practice is absolutely essential. As one of my math teachers told me, "Math is not a spectator sport!".

In addition to my extensive experience private tutoring all levels of math, I have worked as a Supplementary Instructor for two classes: College Precalculus and College Trigonometry. As a Supplementary Instructor, I would sit in class with the students to help answer any questions they might have that the teacher was having trouble answering. After each class I would then hold an open study session where I would help any students who needed further assistance. Often I would have study sessions of up to 10 people or more.

At the end of the day, I enjoy teaching math because I love to help people; I remember what it was like when I didn't understand it, and how frustrating it was. I want to show students that math isn't as scary as they thought, and that with practice and dedication, they can excel. Feel free to contact me at any time and I will answer as quickly as possible.

Elementary Math

I am very experienced with all types of math starting with elementary math and ending with higher level math like Calculus and Differential Equations. I have experience tutoring children and have always had a knack for it. I have a big family, so I have been around children my whole life. This has given me the ability to interact with and communicate ideas to students who are young.

Knowledgeable and Patient tutor

I learned a lot about derivatives and the rules for solving different problems. Really great and patient with someone slow like me :) He was on time, professional, and able to set my next appointment at the end of our session.
