Hello, my name is Colleen. Thank you for being interested to read a little bit about me as a potential tutor for your child. English was my favorite subject in school, and I still am passionate about it to this day. I thoroughly find joy helping others especially with reading, writing, reading comprehension, literature and various other subject matters related to English subject as well as History.
In addition, I love to read and write and learn new things. My goal is to give students competence and confidence in areas where they need. I have over 10 years worth of experience working with students in an academic setting.
My experience includes Kumon Math & Reading, after school tutoring centers, my own freelance tutoring non-native English speakers , volunteer tutoring with a public library for adult English learners, as well as working at a Public High School and Middle School within the Special Education domain. I also was a 3rd grade Teacher at a Private Catholic School for a few months filling in for a teacher on maternity leave.
I am patient, kind, and make lessons engaging, and interesting. I love seeing students thrive and achieve their goals. I hope to be an additional support to your child's learning and success.
