I currently work on Carnival Cruise ships as a piano/vocal entertainer, performing rock, pop, soul, country, and musical theater requests in a sing-along atmosphere. I'm a performer, songwriter, composer, director, and general lover of music. I studied classical and jazz piano from a young age, and in my teen years started writing original songs, singing and playing guitar. After graduating from Mills College with a BA in Music Performance, I explored folk singing in Bulgaria as a Fulbright scholar. I sang professionally with Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble (Oakland, CA) and directed the group, composing and arranging music for the ensemble. In the spring of 2024, I completed an MFA degree in music at the California Institute of the Arts, with a hybrid Performer-Composer specialization. I’m particularly interested in music as a method of collective liberation and community building.

I studied composition while at Mills College, and I enjoy arranging music as well as composing original music. I enjoy ear training the way some people enjoy video games; it's a fun puzzle to work out, and due to my obsession I've got really good at it! I tested into the top level ear training class at Berklee College of Music Summer Performance Program. Through my professional work with Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble, I transcribed many field recordings of folk songs from Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. My skills are highly developed and I look forward to sharing them with you.

I studied classical piano privately for fifteen years. Also, I trained in jazz piano, including a summer performance program at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA). Beyond formal training, I've got five years of intensive performance experience as a solo piano bar entertainer on Carnival Cruises (six nights a week, four hours a night.)

For five years, I worked as a piano bar entertainer on Carnival Cruises, singing rock, pop, soul, country, folk, blues, musical theater, and more.

So knowledgeable!

We have just begun with Elizabeth but she has already made huge efforts to help grow our daughters love for piano, and music. Doing music lessons over the computer isnt always easy and Elizabeth has done a great job of making it feel as if she is sitting next to our daughter on the bench playing along.
