Bio

I hold a M.S. in Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and a B.S. in Physics (with a minor in Geology and additional extensive coursework in English) from University of Massachusetts - Amherst. I have spent over 5 years teaching and tutoring in all math subjects from 5th grade and up, as well as a variety of science and English classes. I have spent over 5 years teaching and tutoring in all math subjects from 5th grade and up, as well as a variety of science and English classes. This has included teaching in unique 1-on-1 style private schools, tutoring at a fast-paced after school tutoring center, and working as a teaching assistant through my graduate education.

One of my favorite parts of working with new students is figuring out what learning style works best for them! I myself am a very visual learner and love making diagrams and models to clarify ideas. I also enjoy learning students' interests and relating subject matter to them when appropriate!

Over the past 4 years, I have taught a number of students in English classes ranging from 7th though 11th grade. Each of these classes included a unit of study and/or other components of creative writing. I have also worked as a tutor to help students edit their writing structure and grammar since 2020. During college, I took many classes in English as well.

I have my M.S. in Oceanography which requires an understanding of earth systems, and minored in Geology during undergraduate studies. As a teacher, I have successfully taught high school level environmental science and marine biology, as well as middle school earth science multiple times.
