My name is John, and I’m a credentialed teacher with 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I began teaching SAT/ACT preparation at The Princeton Review in 2001 and have since helped thousands of students improve their test scores and academic confidence. I hold Master’s degrees in History and Teaching and am licensed to teach in California. I specialize in SAT/ACT prep as well as AP History, Government, and Human Geography tutoring.

As an SAT and ACT specialist, I provide targeted strategies to improve scores efficiently. My approach includes custom practice plans, clear feedback on strengths and weaknesses, and proven test-taking techniques. Many of my students have achieved ACT score increases of 8–12 points (for example, moving from the high teens into the 30s) or SAT gains of 200+ points. I focus on ensuring every student reaches the peak potential of their efforts.

For AP U.S., World, and European History, I help students develop the analytical and writing skills needed to excel on DBQs and FRQs. I also guide them through the challenging transition to stimulus-based multiple-choice questions, strengthening both their reading and test-taking strategies. My sessions include structured essay outlines, targeted content reviews, and practice exams aligned with AP standards. In addition to history, I have helped many students succeed in AP Government and AP Human Geography.
