Hello! My name is Elizabeth, and I'm currently earning a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies and Public Policy at the University of Michigan. Empathy is one of my biggest personal values, and this directly translates towards my teaching style as I'm a firm believer in building close connections with my students while adapting my teaching style to fit each individual student's learning style and personal needs and goals. I aim to help my students succeed in every way possible, and am a huge proponent on building students' confidence by closely supporting them in order to help them reach their full potential.
I have experience in music education, and have tutored 6 elementary students independently in violin and viola via 30 minute FaceTime lessons all throughout high school (2020-2024), creating interactive and original games and activities for students to enjoy and engage in. I've also worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Pacific Academy, a private K-12 school, working with Kindergarten students in developing essential foundational skills. Additionally, I've served every summer at my church's Vacation Bible School, leading a group of elementary students in science experiments, volunteer initiatives, and philanthropic topics. I've also worked as a volunteer with foster youth through leading nonprofits like Olive Crest, Orangewood, Higher Ground OC, etc.
Throughout high school, I achieved a 4.8 GPA, took 18 AP/Honors Courses, started my own arts education nonprofit, and was a viola section leader for my school's highest level orchestra. I've also received the AP Scholar Award with Distinction, and have earned 5s on AP Lang, APUSH, AP Lit, and AP Psychology, in addition to an SAT score of 1540 (780 M 760 RW).
I'm always accessible and open to communicate, and offer a free consultation meeting as well. Please feel free to contact me and reach out! Teaching is one of my greatest passions, and I'd love to have the wonderful opportunity to support you and help you grow throughout your academic journey!
