Hi my name is Justin R. and I have a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Vanguard University of Southern California. I have been playing guitar, bass and drums since I was 6 years old and have over 4 years experience teaching. I love teaching how to play, but I also love music theory! With over 20 years experience, I have played at venues such as Carnegie Hall in NYC, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, and other venues around Orange County. I have over 20 years of experience playing music and over 6 years of teaching experience. I love teaching students how to play the songs they like while developing a love for music all their own.

I have to take multiple hear training classes throughout college. Jazz studies degree requires both classical ear training and jazz ear training classes. Ear training was super important to my college career and is vitally important as a musician.

As a jazz studies major we had to study jazz, classical and other general music. I passed all general music tests and moved on to jazz theory.

I have played guitar and bass for 15 years. I have taught guitar and bass at a studio teaching students 6 years old and up for 2 years. I had to take guitar and bass lessons for all four years of college to graduate.

I played lacrosse the last three years in high school and was president of the team senior year. After high school I was the assistant Junior Varsity Coach at Edison High school. I also was the head coach of a team of Jr. High students.

I graduated from Vanguard University of Southern California, Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies. I have many years of experience playing music and studying the theory behind it. I love analyzing why amazing songs sound the way they do.

I am the Co-Owner of a photo and video business that specializes in real estate and wedding photography. I was on staff at Vanguard University as the photographer for the music department. I also was one of the top students in my photography class at the University.
