I am pursuing a Master’s in Professional Practice in Dietetics at Iowa State University and have earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Throughout my academic journey, I have maintained a strong GPA, achieving a 4.00 in both my master’s and associate’s programs. My education has provided me with a comprehensive foundation in nutrition, food science, and medical nutrition therapy, which I actively apply in my clinical and community-based experiences.

In terms of tutoring experience, I worked as a Mathematics Tutor at Los Angeles Valley College in 2021, where I helped college students with a range of math subjects. I was responsible for tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of students, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring that learning took place in a supportive and communicative environment. My approach focused on understanding each student’s unique challenges and adjusting my methods to suit their learning styles. This experience gave me valuable insight into tutoring in a one-on-one setting and taught me how to create a safe and encouraging space for academic growth.

Additionally, my volunteer and internship experiences have further honed my ability to communicate complex information effectively. As a Sports Nutrition Intern at CSUN, I interacted with student-athletes, promoting nutritional principles in an approachable manner. As a Community Educator Nutrition Intern, I facilitated nutrition workshops and created educational materials, ensuring that information was clear and engaging for diverse audiences. These roles involved assessing individual needs, providing tailored nutrition advice, and communicating effectively to promote understanding. My experience in both the classroom and one-on-one settings, combined with my strong academic background, has equipped me to tutor with confidence and expertise in various subjects, especially in nutrition and dietetics-related topics.
