3 years tutoring online at Remote Math Tutor,
8 years teaching and mentoring students in survival skills, personal development, resilience, confidence, mindfulness, courage, and wilderness therapy techniques;
3 years homeschooling Math,
2 years teaching Math in brick-and-mortar schools,
3 years rocking it and placing 1st place and other high places in MathCounts and SUMDay competitions,
30 years loving Math and passionately teaching it efficiently to anyone who wants to learn
I have tutored the most in Calculus, Algebra 1 & 2, Pre-Algebra, Chemistry, and Physics. During sessions I utilize rocky moments to coach each student in an individualized lesson in confidence, motivation, study skills, and finding direction in life. I teach a love of learning and that we all have a purpose in life.
Students usually raise their grade by 2 grade levels with consistent tutoring: I have helped many students raise their grades from an F to a B, and from a C to and A. I have helped students get a 5 out of 5 on the AP Calculus exam, I help grad students pass Math.
People often praise my enthusiasm for math and science, my great listening skills and patience, my ability to explain complex concepts succinctly and effectively, and my positive attitude. I tutor because it fulfills me: I live to nurture kids’ development and help them get closer to their full potential.
