Hi! I’m Pallavi, a dedicated and approachable math educator with a Master’s degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor’s in Education. I also hold a CSET Math certification, qualifying me to teach in California. With over 2 years of classroom experience and additional years tutoring students from Grades 5 to 9, I’ve developed a deep passion for helping students build confidence and skills in math. While teaching 8th grade at G.D. Goenka Public School in India, I realized that the best learning happens when students feel supported, understood, and genuinely interested in the subject. That’s why I focus not only on teaching math concepts clearly, but also on creating a positive, engaging, and encouraging environment for each learner.
I Introduce topics in a fun, real-world way ,and teach concepts step-by-step with visual support and examples and also provide guided practice followed by independent problem-solving. I adjust my teaching style based on each student’s pace and preferences.
During the pandemic, I successfully transitioned to online teaching, using digital tools to keep students engaged and motivated. I’ve worked with students of varying abilities, including small group tutorials and one-on-one sessions to strengthen foundations in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and general problem-solving.
What You Can Expect:
Clear, friendly explanations
Patience and encouragement
Flexible lesson plans
Fast and open communication

I’m here to support students as much as possible. I welcome any suggestions or resources from parents and learners alike. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a session—I look forward to help you succeed in math!

I’m a passionate and committed math educator with a strong academic foundation, classroom experience, and a love for helping students succeed. With over two years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Mathematics along with a Bachelor’s in Education, I bring both subject expertise and a deep understanding of how students learn best. I began my journey in education by completing my M.Sc. in Mathematics and B.Ed. from India, where I learned both the theoretical depth of math as well as how to effectively teach it to students with varying learning needs. I later passed the CSET Math exam in California, which qualifies me to teach in schools across the U.S. and aligns my skills with American education standards. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child can succeed in math. Math often has a reputation for being difficult or intimidating, but I believe that with clear explanations, real-life applications, and patient guidance, students can develop a strong appreciation and even love for the subject. I always aim to make math feel more accessible, relatable, and fun for my students. I approach each session with empathy, positivity, and a growth mindset. I start by understanding where the student stands—what they know, what they're struggling with, and how they learn best. I tailor my teaching methods accordingly. Whether it's using visual aids for a visual learner, offering extra practice problems, or revisiting concepts from a different angle, I’m committed to meeting students where they are and helping them grow from there. What makes me different from other tutors is my ability to connect with students not just as a teacher, but as a mentor and motivator. I genuinely care about my students’ progress and well-being. I’m always happy to celebrate a correct answer, but I’m equally committed to working through tough moments and academic setbacks. I look forward to working with you and making math a more enjoyable and rewarding subject. Let’s make math meaningful—together!
