Hey there!
I tutor students in mathematics (precalculus, calculus, multivariable calculus, SAT math) and computer science (Python and Java programming). I became interested in tutoring after teaching programming to students affiliated with the Salvation Army after 9th grade. I created my own curriculum and taught Python and SAT Math to high school and pre-college students through Schoolhouse.world. I was a teaching assistant for precalculus courses at my high school. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science.
I have strong experience with mathematics and computer science. I am in the USA Computing Olympiad Silver division. I have worked on Machine-Learning-based product ideas with a for-profit company, researched with UC Irvine on assisting people with disabilities using technology, built projects that won awards at the California Science and Engineering Fair, and developed software for CubeSat satellites. I qualified for the American Invitational Mathematical Examination. I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam and received an A in Multivariable Calculus from community college.
I like challenging students with difficult problems to help them think critically. I believe this approach builds students' confidence and foundation in any subject. My goal is for my students to be confident when given difficult problems and know that they are capable of solving them.
