I am currently pursuing my PhD at UC Davis. I previously attended UC Davis as a Regents Scholar and earned a B.S. with honors in Microbiology (minor: Global Disease Biology) in 2016; in 2019, I moved to London as a Fulbright Scholar alternate to earn a Masters of Science (MSc) through a joint program at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Royal Veterinary College. I have been tutoring since I was in high school (over 15 years of tutoring experience), where I began peer tutoring students in science, math, and English as well as test prep (SAT reasoning and subject tests). Throughout college, I tutored both privately as well as an instructor with tutoring companies (Ivy, Inc.), in addition to paid duties as an instructor for medical microbiology courses at UC Davis. I have several years of experience as an instructional assistant through the California State Summer School for Mathematics & Science (COSMOS) within the biomedical sciences cluster at UC Davis, and have experience assisting college students and recent grads applying to graduate school (GRE prep and application revision, essay editing, etc.), prestigious scholarships, and other postgraduate preparation (e.g. applying to international programs). In short, I have years of experience teaching students in both group and 1:1 settings and greatly enjoy tailoring my instructional style to the specific needs of the student(s) with whom I am working.
I am excited to help motivated students learn and master tricky subjects or to achieve "the next level" of success in their academic endeavors. I am available within Davis, CA and surrounding areas, particularly by remote sessions and/or task/assignment-based need (e.g. college essays/applications, personal statement revision and advising, etc.). I am also available to advise aspiring young scientists on how best to pursue their academic and research goals.
