Hello! My name is Reem. I recently graduated from Del Norte High School and will soon be starting my freshman year at UC Davis, where I plan to major in Mathematical and Scientific Computation. I have a strong passion for math and teaching, which has led me to gain extensive tutoring experience over the past few years.
During high school, I tutored students in various math subjects, ranging from elementary math to high school algebra and geometry. I have experience working one-on-one with students of different ages, including my 11-year-old brother. My tutoring approach prioritizes fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts rather than mere memorization of formulas. I strive to create an interactive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring different problem-solving methods.
Additionally, I spent four years as a camp counselor, working with children in grades 2 through 9. This experience honed my communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas in ways accessible to younger students. One of my proudest moments as a tutor was helping students improve their algebra grades from D to B+ through consistent and focused sessions. My academic background includes taking AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Environmental Science, and AP Government in high school. I also completed college-level courses in Calculus 2, Calculus 3, and Linear Algebra at my local community college.
