I firmly believe all students can succeed with hard work and good study habits. I believe students benefit from being taught material in a way that is individual to their own way of thinking and may need concepts presented to them in a different way than they are taught in their classrooms. I firmly believe all students can succeed with hard work and good study habits. I believe students benefit from being taught material in a way that is individual to their own way of thinking and may need concepts presented to them in a different way than they are taught in their classrooms. Beyond tutoring single subjects, I work with students to ensure they possess strong organizational and planning skills, learn to study efficiently and effectively, and "learn how to learn". With over 10 years of experience in education, I was recently asked to participate in the Woodland Public Library’s “Adulting 101” series, and lead workshops on organization and study skills.

I completed the UC Davis multiple subject teaching credential program in 2019, but found myself drawn to continuing one-on-one and small group work rather than public school teaching. For the past several years, I worked with a family to act as a “pod teacher” during the time of “Zoom School” and then continued on to provide additional individualized support for these students. Prior to this, I graduated Magna Cum Laude at CSUS with a bachelor's in Liberal Studies and have worked in varying educational settings since 2012.

If you are a student who is feeling lost in a class or classes, I would love to help you feel empowered, prepared, and ultimately succeed in your course. I am patient, professional, and prepared to work with any age group from kindergarten to adult. If you have any questions or concerns regarding my ability to tutor you or your child in any subject, please do not hesitate to contact me for an honest assessment, even if it means I am not the right fit for you!

Elementary Math

Elementary Math

As a child who struggled with math, I believe many benefit from having the material explained in a unique way, and that many tough problems become simple when approached from a different perspective. Many students may struggle because their foundational knowledge is incorrect, compounding their issues. My experience in Exploratory Mathematics, Conjectures, and Proofs (or "how to teach math") has provided me with unique solutions and approaches to common math problems. Completion of UC Davis multiple subject credential program, CBEST, CSET.
English

English

As an avid lover of English and Language arts, I have excelled in all related classes and especially love tutoring these subjects. As part of receiving a teaching credential in California, there is a strong emphasis on literacy. In this vein, I have successfully completed assessments such as the RICA (Reading Instruction in California). I particularly enjoy grammar and public speaking. -completed UCD credential program - B.A., Liberal Studies - RICA - CSET - CBEST - TESOL certified
