Hi! I’m John Paul. I have a Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in English and Economics. In college, I worked as an Economics department teaching assistant where I hosted office hours–mainly focused on mathematics (algebra, calculus, statistics) and various economic principles. Additionally, I held a tutoring position at the university’s HUB Writing center, where I directly helped all levels of students improve their writing skills in 1-on-1 tutoring settings. My academic specialties are English and Math, but in my free time, I swim, read books, and play ensemble music with friends!
Excelling in class often requires rigorous independent study or private instruction. My goal is to develop a sense of independent confidence in my students so that they are eventually prepared to take on any learning environment–especially the challenging ones they will face in High School or College–even without a tutor. I take a patient, student-centered approach not only to improve grades, but also to equip students to apply super effective learning methods.
