UC Irvine graduate with a Biochemistry degree. Thirty years of experience as a high school Science Teacher.

I have taught and tutored the following courses: AP and Honors Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Occupations, Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Science, Health and Study Skills.

During my years as a teacher I have been recognized for excellence in teaching, and as a school wide leader in Social Emotional Learning. After returning to in person teaching after Covid-19, I was tasked to create a school wide Social Emotional Learning Plan. I provided in-service for teachers, administrators and the entire school community including parents and all school employees to help understand their new roles in addressing the dramatic changes in education due to the effects of being out of school for almost two years.

My tutoring style is personal, purpose filled, and rooted in the belief that every learner deserves tailored guidance.

I offer a complimentary assessment session where I meet with the parent and student to identify learning goals so that I am able to create lesson plans that cater to their different individual needs and learning modalities. Following the initial assessment I then craft a learning path that gets the student to their goal(s) with confidence.

I bring patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm to each session, ensuring that students feel supported and empowered, whether they are mastering foundational concepts or preparing for high stakes exams.
In short, I don't just teach science- I inspire scientific thinking. My goal as a tutor is to build independent thinkers, questioners and confident learners.
