Hello everyone! My name is Peter and I am an emergency medicine resident physician at the Los Angeles County Medical Center who recently graduated from Brown University.
Ever since I signed up to tutor the sciences and math in high school, teaching has been a passion of mine. I love looking at the issues my students are facing and helping to make the material stick, translating it in a way that generates greater understanding. Since high school, my teaching assignments have taken me from the rural farms of Kenya, to the halls of Brown and Harvard Medical School, to my founding of an educational initiative during my medical training. On the side, I have tutored and advised numerous students along the way, specializing in biology, chemistry, college/medical school admissions, and test prep (MCAT and USMLE).
Specifically, I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology while at Middlebury as the Charles Allen Research Fellow, one of the college's most rigorous majors. After graduating college, I worked in a cardiology lab at Harvard Medical School, instructed STEM for high school students at a renowned Harvard Medical School program, mastered the MCAT, and enrolled in medical school at Brown University. I have tutored high school, college, and medical students both formally and informally in biology, chemistry, admissions, and test prep over the last decade. I enjoy making material as understandable and digestible as possible until my students walk away satisfied conquering their challenges.
