I am currently a full-time GED teacher and I have a very high completion rate (usually a student gets their GED in 2-3 months). I work with minors and adults who have dropped out at eighth or ninth grade. I give them tips for taking tests and show them tricks to learn the material faster. I am positive and I create a learning environment that encourages students to learn. I have taken students from not being able to read all the way through their GED and into college classes.

Dave is great with our daughter and has been a great motivator. She has had her best overall test scores since meeting with Dave last week.
Dave is a very smart guy! He explained what narration was and how it can help my son with reading comprehension. He also had flash cards to help with basic math facts. This was our first time meeting and he gave my son the flash cards! At the moment I'm working with my son by doing narration and using flash cards. So far it seems to be working! Thank you Dave for your wise words of encouragement!
Explains and teaches at the same time. Very patient and organized for each tutoring session. Good prep for SAT and ACT.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have played baseball, starting as a child in Babe Ruth league on. I have watched baseball from the days of going to old Crosley Field in Cincinnati to Chase Field to watch the Diamondbacks. I have watched videos on various aspects of the game.
As a 12 year old I had the opportunity to have my parents send me to basketball camp or have them buy me a drum set. I chose basketball camp. I played in high school and in many areas since. I know the fundamentals well, and I just wish I had the jumping ability of Lebron James.
I have a Masters of Divinity degree and a Masters of Religious Education degree from Grand Rapids Baptist University. I have taught the Bible in Sunday School, youth groups, and at Christian schools for 29 years.
I have played chess for over 45 years. I know the names of the pieces and how they move. I know basic strategy and I have played many levels of competition through the years.
I have taught or substitute taught all elementary grade levels K-8. I am patient and can help students with study tips and by making learning fun.
I have helped numerous individuals pass English on their GED test. I know how to simplify all the grammar and writing rules to a few basic ones.
I started golf lessons at age 14 and I played virtually every day that summer. I get Golf magazine and I have watched various golf technique shows through the years. I would love to help someone with the game, so I can get out on the course more often.
I taught my 5 children how to read by the phonics method. I have taught many students through the years how to read better by phonics. I would love to help as many people as possible with phonics.
I have studied all the major religions and I understand the similarities and differences. In fact, I was pointing these out to one of my students over the last few weeks. I have 2 masters degrees in religious areas.
I have 3 master's degrees and I have helped hundreds of students improve their reading skills. I also am adapt at showing students how to take tests.
The area of study skills is my specialty. I was just helping 3 of my students this week with their college class. I showed them the way to retain information and the way to take tests, among other things.
