I also have one year of hands-on experience working with students in an 8th grade intervention math classroom working to fill in the gaps where they have missed course standards previously. This type of education is different because it focuses on catching students up to where their peers are and helping them meet those Common Core State Standards in a way that a traditional math classroom cannot.

The bulk of my time was spent in the lab and investigating how to manipulate specific genes. In my capstone course, I analyzed how a person's genes can influence the way they respond to medication.
