We started with pronunciation, some exceptions to those pronunciation rules, and progressed to some basic greetings, the Chinese zodiac, and colors (in the first lesson). I like the amount of time she spent with pronunciation, as the tones are very tricky for most learners. Amberley is very encouraging, and she makes use of pronunciation charts and pdf lesson guides. I purchased a textbook she recommended, and will also purchase a dictionary as an additional resource.
