About Jillian:

I received my BA in elementary education in April from the University of Michigan Dearborn. I was on the dean's list for several semesters. I majored in language arts and feel confident in that area as well as math from K-8 grade. I've worked with a variety of children while in college and earlier whether it was through tutoring or pre-student teaching experiences. I completed my student teaching in Canton with 5th graders and learned a great deal from those students. I would love to help your elementary age child with his/her school work in a positive and comfortable manner. My patience and inquiry based teaching techniques would be beneficial to your child.

More On Jillian's Subjects:

  • elementary (k-6th)

I've recently completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. I am certified to teach K-5, all subjects, in a Michigan classroom and I am certified to teach K-8 in a self-contained Michigan classroom. I spent a semester student teaching at the 5th grade level and learned a great deal about several aspects of a classroom: discipline, classroom management, teaching techniques, etc. I created lessons for every subject (math, science, social studies, reading, writing) and implemented them. I adjusted my lessons to accommodate students with special needs and reflected on each lesson. This allowed me to learn from my mistakes and take note of what went well daily. I worked with students one on one when necessary and when I felt they needed my individualized attention.
