I am a graduate of Portland State University with a Master's Degree in mathematics. I taught mathematics at the local community colleges in Portland and now I teach math at the University of Alaska in Anchorage.
While I love teaching, I also enjoy the one-on-one experience of tutoring. I believe that, if each idea was explained to a student in just the right way, they would understand it. Sometimes it takes many tries to find this perfect explanation. In a classroom setting a student doesn't always get this. As a tutor I can go over an idea as many times and in as many ways as necessary.
To avoid any conflict of interest, I do not tutor students taking UAA courses below 300 level.
