I have always had a passion for reading and writing and after 25 years as a research analyst for a major insurance company, I am currently in the process of starting a second career in Education.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Management from Ball State University and a Master's degree in Education with a concentration in English Language Learning from Ashford University. I have also worked as a volunteer tutor in the STAR Literacy program since 2000.

In October 2011, I begin teaching an Adult ESL class through the McLean County Regional Office of Education. I also work as a Master Tutor with the Academic English Learner Program at Heartland Community College, and as a tutor for children in grades K-8 at the Enopi Learning Center in Bloomington.

I look forward to working with students of any age who are interested in improving their reading and writing skills.

I worked for 10 years as a volunteer Reading tutor with the STAR Literacy program. I now teach English as a Second Language at Heartland Community College.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a Master's degree in Education and have tutored both adults and children in Elementary Reading and Math through the STAR literacy program.

I also work part-time as an instructor with the Enopi Bloomington teaching reading and math enrichment courses in students K-8.

Study Skills

I was a volunteer tutor with the STAR Literacy program for over ten years and assisted both children and adults in improving their reading, writing, and study skills. I have a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from a traditional university and a Master's degree in Education where a significant number of the courses were completed online. Needlework

I have been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years. I learned the basics from my grandmother at age 8 and have since studied different techniques. I have made and given blankets, baby clothing, and sweaters to friends and relatives for many years. I have also sold a number of winter hat and scarf sets online. I am a patient teacher and would love to share the ability to create beautiful and practical items with anyone who wants to learn.
