It is my pleasure to provide personalized American accent English lessons to ESL adults, face-to-face and online. My clients include both international working professionals and graduate school scholars requiring excellent English communication skills. I tutor clients effectively and mentor them for life. To accomplish this, I reference my Kennesaw State University TESOL certification training, progressive teaching strategies, and scholarly ESL teaching resources.
I am available to tutor ESL clients during 2 or 3-hour-long lessons between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., daily. Unlike the typical hour-long ESL classroom lectures offered by others, my one-on-one ESL lessons are practical interactive learning experiences. Each ESL lesson plan begins with well-educated English conversation to correct, exercise, and strengthen the client's American English word collocation and pronunciation. Next, a review of the client's recent mispronunciations confirms the efficacy of my past corrections. Finally, each student's lesson plan focuses on their specific English communication priorities. American English conversation, listening comprehension, creative writing, oral presentation practices, and telephone communication exercises are all possible depending on client interest. Appropriate textbook exercises, take-home lesson handouts, and online pronunciation resources are demonstrated, during class, to enhance between-lesson learning opportunities.
I am willing to meet clients where they are most comfortable. This is often in their business, condominium, or home office. University students frequently reserve private study rooms for us to work in. For others, I suggest a public library, quiet coffee house, or WyzAnt's superior online tutoring platform. Any comfortable place that has internet and electrical access will probably be fine.
SPECIALTIES: I am a native speaker of non-regional American English and a passionate advocate of lifelong learning. My ESL specialties include the modeling and teaching of the standard American accent English pronunciation and eloquent speech practices associated with well-educated North Americans. My intermediate, advanced, and professional development English lessons emphasize the multiple-word thought groups, best known as collocations, that native American English listeners are most familiar with. I often collaborate with my clients to script, proofread, and evaluate the American accent English verbal presentations required of them. Astute client-teachers present their PowerPoint lectures to me for my proofreading and constructive suggestions before their critical students see and hear the edited class-room product.
My most popular lesson topics are:
1. Small talk conversation
2. Business English expressions
3. Oral presenting pronunciation
4. Regional accent modification
5. Interview question preparation
6. American English intonation
7. Phrasal verb comprehension
Are you planning a business trip? Let's collaborate to list the English questions you are likely to be asked and practice your best American accent answers. Similarly, we can predict and practice effective telephone English dialogues until you are confident when making calls. When we proofread, edit, and practice delivering your PowerPoint presentations, together, you can expect those public speaking fears to evaporate.
Invitation: Many of the long-term ESL scholars that I assist report huge improvements in their American accent English abilities after meeting with me, weekly, for as little as three months. My clients often validate my respectful dedication to their English communication goals with the excellent reviews and the high lesson ratings included below. I am proud of their accomplishments and grateful for the trust they place in my teaching abilities. I invite you to contact me to discuss your American accent English learning objectives and schedule lessons.
BACKGROUND: During the many years that I traveled, studied, and worked abroad in Austria, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, China, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hawaii, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Virgin Islands, I became familiar with many of the world's diverse peoples and their unique cultures. I frequently accepted requests to teach American accent English to enthusiastic ESL scholars at every stop. In return, my international students often invited me to visit, learn from, and dine with their families and friends.
I began tutoring ESL English full-time when I moved to Atlanta, earned my TESOL (teacher of English to speakers of other languages) certification from the Kennasaw State University, and partnered with the well-respected WyzAnt Tutoring team. For me, teaching ESL English is a win-win proposition. I exchange valuable cultural insights with each of my international clients. (Updated October 2014)
Learning to play chess is not difficult, but winning chess games often is. I guide enthusiastic learners through their first educational chess games to reveal their new-found potential. We will use tournament chess pieces and a game board that displays the algebraic notation needed for our post-game analysis. We will compare the best chess game openings and examine common opening traps. Middlegame strategies, tactics, and maneuvers need to be carefully considered. Endgame opportunities must be recognized to successfully checkmate the opposing king.
I am available between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., daily, for 2-hour private chess lessons at your preferred location. With regular lessons, practice, and dedication, I guide beginning chess players to the advanced beginner level and beyond. I teach Chess Basics and the Official Rules of Chess using well-regarded books, lesson handouts, and learning assessment quizzes. You are invited to contact me directly to arrange for your future lessons.
I come from a large chess-playing family. We were encouraged to play board games together at family gatherings rather than to watch television. Each school-aged child was taught chess and invited to play with the adults. Whenever it was raining outside, we thoroughly enjoyed playing chess with each other, inside. During long trips by car or by plane, we frequently played chess using a magnetic chess board. We became better chess players by teaching each other the official rules, player etiquette, and sportsmanlike behavior.
It is noteworthy, that today's game of chess has an international history stretching back nearly 2000 years to its early development in India and Asia. Currently, the World Chess Federation (FIDE) sanctions over forty official championships, annually, for international youngsters, men, women, and seniors.

I began teaching English to speakers of other languages during the many years that I traveled, studied, and worked overseas in Austria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hawaii, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Thailand, Vietnam, the Caribbean and Philippine Islands. What started as a great way to make friends while learning each other's language has evolved, with formal education, dedication, and experience, into my sole vocation.
I teach individual ESL clients, the standard non-regional American English communication skills required in the world's leading corporations and universities. I am currently tutoring several international clients from Brazil, China, France, Japan, Italy, Korea, the Philippines, and Spain, either in person or online.
My most advanced American accent English clients have collaborated with me, continuously, for two or more years on college-level projects. Several are earning graduate degrees from Atlanta's finest institutions. We meet every week to refine and practice the written and oral English presentations required of them. I also cater to many of Atlanta's international working professionals who use my ESL services to communicate effectively in the American English global marketplace.
My advanced TESOL instructor credentials were awarded by Kennesaw State University. I actively network with influential TESOL certified teachers from around the world to constantly update my ESL teaching skills and materials. Thank you for considering my tutoring services. (Updated: September 2014)
I collaborate with non-native English language learners prior to their taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) standardized test. We practice using the best standardized test-taking strategies while working through IELTS sample tests. I provide the familiarization and testing practice required for successful outcomes. I emphasize studying the IELTS format, scoring, and question types, repeatedly, until testing insecurity is replaced with confidence and, ultimately, high scores.
Many of the ESL graduate school students and working professionals that I assist are expected to engage in American accent English discussions, offer verbal explanations, introduce visiting clients, and narrate PowerPoint presentations. I provide the American accent English pronunciation and elocution skills that speakers of other languages want when creating and delivering oral presentations. I frequently collaborate with my students to draft, proofread, and practice their presentations. I am asked to articulate Standard American accent English examples during practice. I provide the constructive evaluations needed for a confident English presentation. Thank you for your interest in my English tutoring services.
I routinely provide the speech evaluations and respectful suggestions that working professionals and graduate school students need when preparing their verbal presentations. I assist my clients to clearly articulate the eloquent American accent English intonation that they desire to advance their careers.
I collaborate with clients to optimize their verbal presentations through the deliberate use of speech articulation, stress, pacing, and emphasis. My goal is to guide my ESL scholars toward increasingly clear, fluid, and coherent discourse.
I often assist my clients with their pronunciation, vocabulary, and accent challenges. Toward that end, I routinely model the Standard non-regional American accent English generally associated with well-educated North Americans. I carefully enunciate my words using the slow careful speech and accurate American accent English syllable stress that does not require undue listener effort.
I regularly resource my Kennasaw University TESOL certification, professional tutoring experience, and scholarly English language reference book collection. My ESL students report increased confidence in their verbal presentations, successful job interview outcomes, and high coursework marks. My clients also praise my efforts in positive tutor reviews and with high lesson ratings. They credit me with the huge improvements and compliments they experience in regards to their American accent English language skills. Thank you for considering my qualifications.
