Hello! I am a recent graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. I have a bachelor's in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) as well as a bachelor's in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry. I am an experienced tutor in a variety of subjects. I provided short descriptions of these experiences for each of my certified subjects. If you are unsure about whether or not I would be able to tutor you in the subject you want, please do not hesitate to contact me!

A little about myself - I moved to San Francisco in December 2012. I am enjoying all the sunny weather by playing tennis, hiking, and getting familiar with the Bay Area. I have visited almost all the tourist stops. My favorite is (of course) Ghirardelli.

Algebra 1

I first took algebra 1 in 8th grade as an honors course. I then continued to develop and use the skills I learned throughout my high school and college career. I ended up taking four semesters of Calculus in college. Without algebra, it is very difficult to do the higher maths!

Algebra 2

I first took algebra 2 in 10th grade. I then continued to develop and use the skills I learned throughout my high school and college career. I ended up taking four semesters of college calculus! Without algebra, it is very difficult to do the higher maths!

Biology

The first biology class I took was in 9th grade as a pre-IB track course. I then moved on to taking AP biology my junior year. In college, biology was my major so I have very in depth experience of this topic.

Calculus

In high school, I took calculus as a senior. I then moved onto take four semesters of calculus in college. My calculus came in very handy throughout my college career.

Chemistry

I began my chemistry studies in high school - right around 10th grade. In college, my MCDB major (see profile) required me to take all of the chemistry that is regularly heard of: general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry. On top of that, to complete the minor I was required to take physical chemistry and I found this course to be the most challenging as well as the most intriguing.

Prealgebra

I took honors pre-algebra in 7th grade. I have not stopped using the skills I learned in that class since then. I took math every year through middle and high school. In college, I utilized my knowledge to complete four semesters of calculus.

Trigonometry

I took trigonometry as a combined class with algebra 2 in high school around 10th grade. I continued using my trigonometry knowledge through pre-calculus and calculus the following years. I then used my trigonometry knowledge extensively in calculus 1 and 3 as well as physics 1 and 2.

Physiology

I took honors anatomy and physiology in high school and absolutely loved it. I used my knowledge of these subjects to aid in my understanding of the biology courses I took to fulfill my major in college. I found the course very handy multiple times in the last six years. On top of that, it's just cool to know.

Genetics

I began my studies in genetics in high school with Mendel and pea plants in AP Biology. After passing the AP Biology exam with a "4" rating, I went on to become a molecular, cellular and developmental biology major where I began my track with a course in Genetics and Genetics Lab. After these two years of developing my understanding of genetics, I was continually required to go back to it in all the other courses related to my major.
