Texas City Special Needs tutoring job

posted on: 7/28/13

Job description

I have a daughter in the Texas City school system. She did not pass her STAR and has to repeat the 5th grade. She has A.D.D. and has struggled since kindergarten. She has been in special education since kindergarten. We have felt that she has needed to be held back since kindergarten, but all the special education departments would tell us retention doesn't equal success. So, we would agree to let her go forward into the next grade while just adding on more and more so call special education services. So I am not surprised that we have come to this point and she has finally crashed. We are looking to have someone once or twice a week to get her ready for school again.

The best part about tutoring for me is working with students one-on-one and knowing that I played a part in their academic success. The most frustrating part of tutoring — finding new students, dealing with marketing, billing clients, etc. Wyzant solves those problems and lets me focus on what I do best — teaching!
