Summer school is here, and for all you undergraduate students, it is drudgery! Well, a tutor can help make this road a little smoother. Tutors not only give valuable information and help with those courses, which are generally retakes from the previous year, but can also give insight into study skills, which helped them to be successful in their college careers. This is not money thrown away, but money well spent. It is also one of the expenses that is allowable, by most schools, as stipend. So if you ask your financial aid counselor, most will be more than happy to get you help to pay for tutoring.
It's time for summer fun! I am now taking reservations for summer fun art classes. Summer fun art classes are open to all ages, but students will be grouped age appropriately. Art classes will be in sculpting, painting (watercolors and acrylics), drawing, batik, collage, crafts (for the younger artists), and art history (this meets at a local art museum). All classes (except art history) will meet here in Orlando, either on my deck which looks out over the lake, or out by the lake. Students will be responsible for all supplies. Craft supplies, for some classes, will be provided by the teacher. Models, for posing, will be provided by the teacher, from time to time. Firing, for the sculpting class, will be arranged by the teacher at a discount rate.
All of my students get an added bonus. I teach them how to integrate life long success planning into their everyday life. The parents of my current students will testify, that these skills are a plan for success.
With out these much needed skills adults, or adolescents, are set up for failure. Once a person is taught how to study, keep records, be organized and how to integrate that information with their every day lives, it will become second nature to them. They now have a new set of skills that will help them with their every event, in every day of their lives.
