Hi, guys!   I am new to WyzAnt, but I'm an old hat at tutoring. In the past, I specialized in middle-high school math, but I am well versed in a variety of subjects. I will always tell you if I think you should find a better tutor for a specific topic, but that hasn't happened to me yet, and I don't plan for it to happen in the future.    For recurring students,... read more

Kick-off to my new type of tutoring - Motivational Tutoring!   I am a firm believer, as a parent, substitute teacher, former drug education instructor and now, private tutor that if a child is motivated with creative and competitive styles of learning, it will increase their academic skill AND confidence.    By using props such as playing cards, dominoes, stuff animals,... read more

Hey everyone, I'm Joel! I'm just crazy about language and have spent the last ten years learning dialects from the clicking Xhosa to the gaffable Yiddish. Good morning! I am excited to get started in the field of tutoring. I'm a professional educator and I would not want to do anything else. It really is the joy of my life and I think it shows through my love of learning and helping others learn. I believe that education should be fun! If you're not having fun then you're not doing it right!

So far I've found that the testing system is ingenious and appropriate, even if the approval process takes way longer than I expected.   Feel free to ask me any questions! I'd love to help anyone out.

Today, I confirmed my first client through WyzAnt. We will be working on 10th grade chemistry and algebra 2. While I have tutoring experience in academic settings, I have never taken the step to tutor independently. WyzAnt has provided an avenue through which I can independently schedule tutoring hours, create lesson plans, and maintain a network of potential students. Thank you, WyzAnt! ...
