There is still a segment of the population that has difficulty with computers or “How to Use”: a software program, the computer as a tool, or taming the beast they see on their desk at work.
The first thing I say to comfort my students is that they are not going to break their computer by doing something “silly”. They may get a garbage (or unexpected) response from the program, but that is simply because computers are machines that need to be told what to do. True, computers are excellent at doing things, but computers do not have the level of understanding how to read our minds and do what we want the computer to do.
This perceived “dumbness” on the part of the computer presents challenges to even the best tutor. Why, because humans all have different learning styles and:
1. Most students learn differently than you do.
2. Each student learns differently from other students.
3. No one teaching method will effectively reach all students.
4. A tutor cannot address...
One of the hardest applications in the MS Office suite is MS Access. This is why Microsoft separates this application from the general Office suite and you only get MS Access when you purchase the Professional versions or higher. MS Access will be referred to as Access for the remainder of this article.
This application does not follow the normal Windows or Office menus, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. You also create everything (tables, queries, forms, reports, and macros) into one file rather than create individual files. This is sometimes a hard concept for the casual computer user to understand. To even confuse new computer users, MS Access 2007 is using a new extension, .accdb rather than the traditional .mdb filename.
When you first start to learn Access, most classes teach you about tables first, then queries, then forms, and finally reports. This is all good, but they don't necessarily teach you why you create the tables, other than telling you the field names...
Hello! My name is Kathleen (Kathy). I came across WyzAnt, and I feel like it is exactly what I have been looking for! I have always excelled at all things English. I love spelling, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, teaching computer skills, etc. I am fascinated by language and by the choices people use to express themselves. I would love the opportunity to help a student feel more confident in all subjects related to English.
I also worked as an Executive Assistant for many years, and am very proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, and find them to be a great deal of fun once you get used to them. Technology is moving so fast, and keeping up with the latest software versions is crucial to surviving in today's workplace.
I would love to meet you and see if there are some subjects I would be able to assist you with for your future success.
I am willing to provide online tutoring to anyone interested. It's convenient and effective.

“Working with Mr. Rodriguez was quite enjoyable. He was professional at all times and his work with the students was unmatched at the time by anyone else here. His knowledge was reflected in how the students embraced him. He was here every day even when the students were not. I highly recommend Mr. Rodriguez because he embodies what an Instructor should be.”

Using the Report Layout View is a much easier way to adjust your report. If you are like most users you want your reports to look perfect, however the Deign View with the band can be confusing. Try using the Microsoft Access 2007 or 2010 Layout View. You can add lines, change the fonts and many more editing like functions.
Hope this helps and I will add more tips and tricks later.
