I respect both your time and mine. As such, the following cancellation policy will go into effect on 10/14/20.
If you need to cancel:
If you cancel at least 12 hours before your scheduled lesson, there will be no charge and we can reschedule for a better time.
If you cancel within 4-12 hours before your scheduled lesson, there will be a cancellation fee of 50% of the lesson price.
If you cancel less than 4 hours before your scheduled lesson, there will be a cancellation fee of 75% of the lesson price.
My minimum lesson time is 1 hour. If you arrive late to a lesson, need to leave early, or don’t have enough material for an hour, I will still charge for the entire hour.
If you do not show up within 15 minutes of the lesson start time, I reserve the right to consider it a ‘no-show’ and charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the lesson price.
If you are canceling because of an emergency or similar, I will take that into consideration when assessing a...
I respect both your learning time and my teaching time. For lesson scheduling, I will be implementing the following policies starting 3/3/20:
Cancellation policy for students
If a student wishes to cancel a scheduled lesson, they must do so at LEAST 12 hours in advance (via the Wyzant messaging system). Doing this will result in no charge on your card, and we will be able to reschedule the lesson at a more convenient time.
If a cancellation is requested between 4-12 hours before the scheduled lesson time, a 50% cancellation fee will be charged.
If a cancellation is requested less than 4 hours before the lesson time, a fee of 75% of the lesson will be charged.
If a student arrives more than 5 minutes late to the lesson, the time spent waiting will also be charged.
I always wait 15 minutes in the online lesson space. If the student has not joined the...
Thank you for respecting my time as much as I respect yours. Effective February 12, 2020, I will be implementing the following policies:
Out of respect for your time, if I need to cancel a lesson less than two hours from the start of your lesson, your next lesson will be free.
If you cancel in less than two hours from the start time of our lesson, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
If you cancel after I am in my car to travel to your location or within 30 minutes of your lesson time (whichever comes first), you will be charged 100%.
If you have a standing lesson with me and you cancel more than two times in an eight week period, all future cancellations will be charged at 100%. This policy will be applied on a rolling basis.
Out of respect for your time, if I am late for a lesson by more than fifteen minutes, your next half-hour of tutoring will be free.
If I arrive...
I value my time as much as I value yours. Thus, the following Cancellation and No Show policies are in place:
All cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to our scheduled lessons (via Wyzant’s messaging system). If a cancellation occurs 12 or more hours before the lesson’s start time, you will not be charged any cancellation fees.
Any cancellations that are made between 2 and 12 hours in advance may be charged for up to 50% of the lesson’s cost. Any cancellations made <2 hours in advance may be charged for up to 100% of the lesson’s cost.
If a student does not show up within 30 minutes of the lesson’s start, the lesson will be considered canceled and will thus be charged in full.
If any family or personal emergencies come up, I will take them into consideration and excuse the cancellation at my discretion.
I respect your time so please try to respect mine! Please do your best to give me at least a 12 hour notice before you cancel. All cancellations should be made through Wyzant messaging.
If a student cancels between 6 and 1 hours before the lesson, I will charge up to 50% of the lesson fee.
If a student cancels 1 hour or less before the lesson, I will charge up to 75% of the lesson fee.
If a student is more than 20 minutes late to a lesson, I will charge the full lesson fee and I will stay until the end of the allotted lesson time (so if a student is 20 minutes late to a 1 hour lesson, I will only stay for 40 minutes).
If you must cancel or are late because of an emergency, I will reconsider the fees.
My Cancellation Policy
I value my time spent teaching, and your time spent learning. In order to facilitate the scheduling of lessons, I use the following cancellation policy:
Cancellation Policy for Students:
Any student is free to cancel any session by communicating their wish to cancel using the Wyzant web page or mobile app. The student wishing to cancel his or her lesson, must provide notice of cancellation, through the Wyzant web page or mobile app. The cancellation message must appear in the Wyzant messages page, with a message time according to the schedule below.
For online lessons that are scheduled to take place within 2 hours of being scheduled, notice to cancel must be given no later than 20 min after to the start time of the lesson, if no notice is given, in this case, a cancellation fee of up to 15% may be assessed.
For online lessons that are scheduled to take place within 8 hours of being scheduled, notice to cancel must be given no later...
I value my time spent teaching, and your time spent learning. To facilitate the scheduling of lessons, I use the following cancellation policy:
Cancellation Policy for Students:
If a student wishes to cancel the lesson, she/he must provide notice at least 8 hours prior to the beginning of the lesson.
If a student cancels the lesson between 8 and 2 hours in advance, a cancellation fee of up to 35% of the lesson cost may be assessed.
If a student cancels the lesson less than 2 hours in advance (or does not show up to the lesson without prior notice) a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the lesson cost may be assessed.
If a student arrives to a lesson late, the lesson cost will include the time missed by the student.
If a student arrives to a lesson more than 20 minutes late, I may consider the lesson cancelled without prior notice.
Tutor Lesson Commitment:
I value my students time and education...
Please give notice at least six hours before the start time of a scheduled session if you have to cancel or reschedule for any reason.
If you cancel a scheduled session less than 6 hours in advance but at least 30 minutes before the start time, a fee of up to 50% of the cost of the lesson will be charged.
If you cancel a lesson later than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, a fee of up to 100% of the cost of the lesson will be charged.
If you show up to a lesson late, the charge for the lesson will still be for the duration between the scheduled start time and the actual end time. If you are more than 30 minutes late to a session and have not communicated that you will arrive late, the lesson will be considered cancelled and a fee of up to 100% of the cost of the lesson will be charged.
When calculating a cancellation fee, a session duration of one hour will be assumed in all cases unless a different duration has been agreed upon beforehand.
My Cancellation Policy
I consider time very valuable, both to me and to my students. In order to be a more effective tutor, I am implementing my cancellation policy as follows:
- Student Cancels with more than 24 hours Notice: No fee
- Student Cancels with 6-24 hours Notice: 1/2 price of session
- Student Cancels with 1-6 hours Notice: Full price of session
- Student no-show with No Notice: Full price of session and student may be dropped
I am committed to providing an excellent experience during each tutoring session. I promise to value your time. In the unlikely event that I am late or need to cancel a session last-minute, I agree to the following:
- I am more than 15 minutes late to session: Student charged 1/2 price of session and make-up time, if possible
- I cancelled a session with less than 24 hours Notice: Next session is free
My schedule is very full, and I prefer to schedule my students on a certain day of...
If a student wishes to cancel a lesson, he/she must provide a notice at least 8 hours prior to the beginning of said lesson. This allows sufficient time to schedule others who may be waiting for a lesson. If a student cancels less than 8 hours prior to a lesson, a 100% cancellation fee may be charged.
If a lesson is not cancelled, yet the student fails to show up within the first 15 minutes of the lesson, a no-show fee of 110% of that lesson will be given, unless an emergency had arisen at the time of the lesson. If a student is counted as a no-show two times, future lessons will only be given at a 200% rate of the tutors existing rate. After three no-shows, the student will not be allowed any more lessons.
A lesson begins and ends at the time scheduled. If a student is late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time and the full lesson fee will still be charged.
All cancellations and rescheduling must be made in writing (through WyzAnt messaging) at least 36 hours prior to the lesson start time.
If the lesson is rescheduled with notice more than 36 hours in advance of the lesson start time, no fee is assessed.
If the lesson is rescheduled with notice less than 36 hours, a $10 fee may be assessed.
Note: While I can usually find a time to reschedule, it is not always possible. In those cases, it will be considered a cancellation.
If the lesson is cancelled with no plan to reschedule, a $15 fee is assessed.
For no-shows, a cancellation fee equal to the full amount of the lesson is assessed. A student will be considered a no-show if they are more than 15 minutes late.
In the case of documented emergencies or extreme illness, exceptions can be made at my discretion.
Lessons will be charged according to their scheduled beginning and end times, regardless of whether a...
Thank you for the opportunity to help you/your child be successful in school. Helping others develop strong study habits and improve their knowledge and understanding is my passion. I am happy to be of service. I also rely on my tutoring income to meet my responsibilities. For that reason, I believe it is important to have clear policies around scheduling and cancellations.
I schedule students on a first come – first served basis. I have many students who choose to keep a regular standing appointment each week. This arrangement is the most mutually beneficial for all involved. However, I also have some students who prefer to schedule as needed. Those students need to be flexible as my availability may shift from week to week. All appointments are a minimum of one hour in length. To schedule an appointment please contact me via email at Tami.Ordonez@wyzant.com.
If you must cancel an appointment, please contact me by 2:00 PM the day prior...
24 hour minimum notice is required to avoid a cancellation fee. Notice may be provided by call, text, or message/email.
Cancellation fees are as follows:
- If the Client cancels at least 24 hours in advance,
no fee will be charged
- If the Client cancels between 6 to 24 hours in advance,
50% of the scheduled session will be charged
- If the Client cancels less than 6 hours in advance,
100% of the scheduled session will be charged
Example: Client has a 2-hour session scheduled to start at 6:00pm. If Client cancels at 10:00am that morning, giving only 8 hours notice, Client will be charged for 1 hour. If Client cancels at 4:00pm, giving only 2 hours notice, Client will be charged for 2 hours.
My rates are 100% negotiable. At my sole discretion, I may elect to modify my standard rates based on factors such as frequency, duration, online vs in-person, group rates, etc.
Billing begins at the scheduled session start time (or earlier if the session starts early). This means that time spent waiting for a late student is billed as part of the session duration.
For in-person lessons, two-way travel time over a total of 30 minutes is billed as part of the session duration measured by the average travel time from my residence to the meeting location. To mitigate costs of travel, I suggest sessions be longer rather than shorter, or sessions be held online to eliminate traveling costs altogether.
All fixed-cost expenses incurred as a cost of providing tutoring are to be reimbursed directly to me by the student, paid for in cash or by check (made payable to Ryoga Independent LLC). Example of such costs include the cost of toll roads, parking fees,...
To all prospective/current clients and students:
-For cancellations made within 24 hours of any scheduled tutoring session, I will assess a cancellation fee of 1/2 of the lesson rate.
-For students who do not show up or if you show up more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled session, my full rate will be charged.
On the same token, I am applied to the same rules of conduct:
-If I am more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled session, then student is charged 50% of lesson or if possible make up time after.
-If I missed a scheduled lesson, then your next scheduled lesson is completely free.
To make it clear for prospective students and parents:
I will not charge for cancellation before 24 hours of scheduled lesson
I will charge 25% for cancellation within 24 hours of scheduled lesson
I will charge 50% for no show without notice
To all prospective/current clients and students:
For cancellations made within 24 hours of any scheduled tutoring session, I will assess a cancellation fee of 1/4 of my tutoring rate.
I will not charge for the first cancellation or any cancellations due to emergencies.
For any student who does not show up to a lesson without notice, my full rate will be charged.
- All sessions are billed in 5-minute increments.
- All sessions will be charged beginning at the scheduled start time, unless I am late, in which case, the session time will begin when I arrive and charges will be assessed accordingly.
- If a session goes past the scheduled end time, you will be charged until the session is complete, in 5 minute increments. If you need a session to end “on time,” simply let me know.
- If I choose to end a session early, for example, because we covered all the necessary material--or any similar event--then I will charge you for only the actual duration of the session, in 5-minute increments.
- If you choose to end a session early, for any reason, you will be charged for the full scheduled session.
- Unless otherwise agreed, all sessions will be schedule for 2 hours. For more explanation, see my TutorFAQs.
- Sometimes, it is necessary for me to have my 5-year-old daughter with me when I tutor. She is very well-behaved...
I want to make it very clear of my cancellation policy to potential students as well as other tutors as I think it is important that all sides are clear on this topic. I take my tutoring of you and/or your children very seriously. Tutoring is like any other appointment and is not something that you do when you feel like it. Your education is important to me as well as it should be to you as well!
Keeping to a tutoring schedule is crucial, and as such, it is also considerate to let me know if you want to cancel a session ahead of time. If you have an emergency, then I completely understand. If you decide that you have something else to do or planned your day poorly, then you will be charged accordingly.
I have a very full schedule. Rescheduling should only be done in an emergency and if my schedule permits it.
24+ hours Notice of Cancellation: No fee
6-24 hours Notice of Cancellation: $25/hour
1-6 hours Notice of Cancellation:...
Due to winter weather and my use of the bus system, my tutoring guidelines have changed. Please review the new guidelines below, and let me know if you have any questions. Changes from the old guidelines are typed in
