In school growing up I struggled with math. The fractions and equations eluded me. I didn't want anything to do with pi unless i was able to eat it. Then I met one of my best teachers ever. She sat down with me and made math interesting. Instead of giving me just facts and figures she used verbs to make math a fun experience. I learned how to use race cars to learn my advanced factor chart and how a butterfly could flutter from point A to point B to demonstrate geometry concepts. Now I use pictures and fun models to remember math concepts. Teaching children math is now a passion to me and I enjoy passing the active learning techniques onto others.
