How to do homework on budgeted time

If you are like me and have a lot of things to do during the day, you may find yourself asking, "when the heck am I gonna have time to do my schoolwork?!".  Here are my top four pointers that I think will help you stay on top of your game while also keeping you from letting all the good times pass you by! Because let's face it, all-nighters are never fun, and neither is missing out on a good, themed birthday party.
1.  Know your weaknesses and cater to them.
Worst subjects--we all have them.  Figure out what yours is and devote the majority of the little time you have to that subject.  Seems pretty obvious, but it needs to be said.
2.  Learn how to take notes while reading.
If you get used to reading with a pen in your hand, you'll be able to take notes much more quickly.  This will also help you learn the language of the book, which will make it much easier to find key phrases that are important to remember.  This will allow you to read more quickly, ensure you retain only the valuable information, and save you time.
3.  Plan your schedule efficiently.
It is important to be aware of how long, on average, it takes you to do various tasks.  Let's say you know that it takes you about 4 hours to write a 5 page paper.  And you know you have a 10 page paper due in 2 weeks.  Assuming the paper should take you about 8 hours, you know to set aside at least one hour, four days a week until the paper is due.  Which leads us to the last tip.
Read it.  Plan accordingly.  This ensures you won't have to miss your friend's birthday because of that paper you forgot to start early, or that ugly sweater party you promised you'd go to but can't because you forgot you had a presentation due the next day.
