Quote of the Day - John Steinbeck

"I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit."
~John Steinbeck
There's an artist in each teacher and each student: teaching is the collaboration of two innovative minds. As a tutor, I see living, breathing artwork that is guided simultaneously by intuition, creativity and reason. I'm in a gallery surrounded by the curiosities and masterpieces of knowledge. Each piece has a story that narrates a small piece of the creators' lives.

Beautiful! Love the quote and your rendition of it. I've heard it said that teaching young children requires the most creativity, but that is only because adults have conditioned themselves to expect and accept less than the best of innovation out of their teachers. Every successful teaching-learning relationship needs innovation and sensitivity to the uniqueness of each mind as you describe. May we bring that every day to our lessons as if each mind were its own species of fruit tree preparing to bear fruit for society.
