I don't have children of my own but I have plenty of experiences as a Big Sister, Aunt, and Foster Parent. Children need structure and time management. As a parent, it is your duty to provide that to them. I believe one week prior to the school year children should return to their school year schedule. For example, going to bed at 7pm during the week instead of 10 pm. Limiting their television rituals especially on Sunday. Eating a hearty meal in the morning that will last up to lunch time. It doesn't hurt to review your child/children last semester spelling words and math problems.
