Getting Started!

Back from a trip to Mexico! Often, you can best set yourself up for success in second language acquisition when you first get to understand a bit about the culture of the target language. Also, when learning another language, you cannot fear failure, neither failure to acculturate, nor failure to learn the language well. You might sound funny, and your brain might be jumping through hoops, but do not be discouraged. Language learning is a process, and the more you continue to practice and allow yourself to experience awkward moments, the more successful you will be. Always be inquisitive when it comes to vocabulary, and do not be afraid to stop someone and ask for clarification. You will be amazed at how understanding and helpful people will be!
